Kingmakers feature

Kingmakers is an action/strategy sandbox game with thousands of enemies on screen, allowing you to use modern weapons in medieval times

Now here is something that passed under my radar. A couple of weeks ago, tinyBuild revealed a new action/strategy sandbox game that will feature A LOT of characters on screen, and that will allow you to use modern weapons in medieval times.

In Kingmakers, players will travel back 500 years, to medieval England, in order to change the course of a bloody war.

Now the big feature of this game is that it can push thousands of enemies on screen. Not only that but you can use modern weapons to kill your enemies. So, for instance, you can use an AK-47 to shoot knights. Or you can use grenades and rocket launchers to wreak havoc on the battlefield.

As the devs noted, every soldier on the battlefield is controlled by a next-gen multi-threaded AI which controls their decision-making, pathfinding, and loyalty. This, combined with a unique procedural animation system, will allow Kingmakers to offer an unprecedented level of character and combat fidelity.

In Kingmakers, you can seamlessly switch between combat and issuing orders, at any time. So, think of it as something like Shiny Entertainment’s Sacrifice. You will be able to directly issue orders to the warriors or leave it up to the AI and focus on the battle. You’ll also be able to allocate legions of archers, swordsmen, spearmen, and cavalry, build fortifications, and plan your next move.

Finally, the game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. And, as you will see, it looks kind of cool. At least for its huge scale. Sure thing, we’ve seen better 3D models. But man, watching all these enemies on screen feels soooooooo good. I want more games with this amount of enemies.

tinyBuild plans to release this game later this year.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. I can sniff the stink of unreal engine from miles away. It never stops being vomit inducing at first glance.

    1. starting to think it’s the devs fault these unreal games keep running like a*s. Lies of P was an excellent unreal engine game.

      1. My problem with that sh*tty engine is how it looks. Anything that looks remotely decent is pushing the engine to a point where it defeats the purpose of a game engine.

    1. Fishing with dynamite already done in real world, especially in a 3rd world country where rules and regulation can be broken unpunished

  2. you guys don’t have any room to judge this if you played Vampire Survivors for more than five minutes.
    “played”

  3. Look like a new Mount and Blade but some how worst and wonkier. But has the potential of being so bad that is funny.

  4. Hi, good post. Your website appears to have an issue with Internet Explorer. This problem will cause a lot of people to miss your good content because IE is still the most common browser.
