SEGA has released the latest part of its Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, Infinite Wealth, on PC. Powered by the Dragon Engine, it’s time now to benchmark it and examine its performance on PC.
For our benchmarks, we used an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of DDR5 at 6000Mhz, AMD’s Radeon RX580, RX Vega 64, RX 6900XT, RX 7900XTX, NVIDIA’s GTX980Ti, RTX 2080Ti, RTX 3080 and RTX 4090. We also used Windows 10 64-bit, the GeForce 551.23, and the Radeon Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1 drivers. Moreover, we’ve disabled the second CCD on our 7950X3D.
Ryu Ga Gotoku has added a few graphics settings to tweak. PC gamers can adjust the quality of Shadows, Geometry and Reflections. There are also settings for Motion Blur, SSAO, DoF and Realtime Reflections. Plus, the game has an FOV slider and a Render Scale setting. And while there is an option to uncap the framerate, there is a hard/engine lock at 250fps.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth does not feature any built-in benchmark tool. So, for both our CPU and GPU tests, we used the first open-world area in the first chapter. This area should, in theory, also give us a pretty good idea of how the rest of the game runs. We’ll be also focusing on native resolutions. We’ve covered NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3.0 in a separate article. So, be sure to read that too if you are interested in them.
To see how the game runs with different types of CPUs, we simulated dual-core, quad-core, and hexa-core CPUs. Without SMT, the game was unplayable on our simulated dual-core system due to severe stuttering. With SMT, we were able to get over 60fps at 1080p/Max Settings at all times. So, you’ll at least need a CPU with four threads in order to get an enjoyable experience.
What’s also interesting is the gap between the octa-core and the simulated hexa-core. With all its eight CPU cores, our 7950X3D could push 250fps at 1080p/Max Settings. However, once we disabled two CPU cores, our framerates were reduced by around 100fps. That’s a huge performance decrease. Moreover, SMT/Hyper-Threading could not improve performance on our simulated hexa-core system.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth can run smoothly on a wide range of GPUs at 1080p/Max Settings. Even our AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 was able to offer a smooth gaming experience. There were some drops to 58fps but very few of you will be able to notice them.
At 1440p/Max Settings, our top five GPUs have no trouble at all running the game. As for Native 4K/Max Settings, the only GPUs that were able to push framerates over 60fps were the AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX and the NVIDIA RTX4090.
Graphics-wise, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth looks better than any of its predecessors. However, it cannot come close to what the 2023 PC graphical juggernauts, like Alan Wake 2, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora or Cyberpunk 2077 Path Tracing, have managed to achieve. Still, the game has detailed characters, and it runs smoothly. Oh, and there aren’t any stutters at all (unless you use DLSS 3 Frame Generation which is completely broken in this title).
All in all, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth can run smoothly on a wide range of PC configurations. Despite using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech, Infinite Wealth does not suffer from any stuttering issues. PC gamers will at least need a CPU with four threads, and a GPU equivalent to the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64.
Enjoy!

Def looks like mega c/t counts help a lot here but just more also, the difference between 4/8 and 6/12 is 40fps there nice. The good thing is that if the low end is anywhere near 60 as it is here, your ultra settings which are a huge waste can be a few settings to high and easily 60 or more. I still haven’t been back to 7 and the mod for classic combat style seems to be on it’s way wait till it gets even better to head back in. I couldn’t get into judgement really just too many other games that I liked better but I know people say it takes hours to get going idk in slow times might be worth it but those hours could be spent at the moment on other already enjoyable games. I think they’re aware of this and limit games via hw reqs to then regulate pricing, cartel of big devs. Optimization is definitely a neglected thing over average equipment of the last 3-5 years but who bothers w their marketing recommends, reqs and such too much, only the naive types who ask can i run this? type of questions. Intel gets in there via sse and other hard won’ t run things, mesh shaders, some games won’t run on older win10 versions at all like SF which a simple hack bypasses etc
Those graphs are puttin’ a hurtin’ on my eyes, man.
Why does the media keep giving Japanese games a pass.
This game has:
-Denuvo DRM
-On launch, this game has 19 DLC! Some costing $20
-NG+ is locked behind a Deluxe/Ultimate Edition, which cost a whopping $85/$110 respectively. This is a $85 game to get the basic content.
Imagine if any Western developers launched a game with Denuvo, 19 DLC and locked NG+ behind Deluxe editions. You would never hear the end of it.
It’s a performance review not a game review, stupid f*k
Wow what a scummy thing to do I doubt normal play anyones getting 85hrs of entertainment out of this and they’ve abused the price/hr a lot lately. Only wasters pay full price usually most get it on the key sites for a lot less or wait for steam sale etc But the dlc abuse and the ng+ are particularly egregious. They want you paying regularly so they’re pushing subscription cloud based gaming, squashes eye patching it and also you accept up front you’re just renting not owning one of their big themes. Similar to the squashing of the used market for pc games at least and really most console discs ain’t having the whole game on there.
You’re correct; that’s very shietty.
Maybe game reviewers or game authors simply don’t care about that aspect of shiety micro-transactions and dlcs anymore?
On the other hand, as mentioned below, this game is already very good with the standard editions, lots of fun and offers many tens of hours of game.
