Unreal Engine 5-powered dinosaur shooter, Instinction, gets a 7-minute gameplay video

Hashbane just dropped a new 7-minute gameplay video for their upcoming dino game, Instinction. The video shows Izzy, the main character, checking out some of the game’s early areas. Just a heads up, though – there aren’t any dinosaurs in this video, so don’t get too hyped up about that.

Instinction aims to bring you an action-packed adventure with a gripping story, cool combat, exploration, and brain-teasing puzzles. The places you explore in the game can be both dangerous and stunning, just like the creatures you’ll come across. And here’s a cool fact: Instinction is one of the first games to include the real vocalizations of the T-Rex. Cool, right?

From what we know so far, Instiction will take advantage of both DLSS and Ray Tracing on PC. Plus, UE5 will allow the team to further push the lighting and model quality among other improved capabilities. Or at least that’s what they claimed when they switched to it. There is also no word on whether it will use Nanite.

Hashbane said that the next gameplay video is going to be the real deal. It’ll show off fighting with human and dinosaurs, three different weapons, and it will even have some cool stuff like dismemberment and unique game features. So, it seems like that’s the video that’s going to make people want to buy the game.

Finally, the developers will share their roadmap and a FAQ later this week. Hopefully, the roadmap will include when we can expect the game to be released.

Since I am a big dino fan, I’ll keep an eye on this title. So, expect more news about it in the coming months. I’m also curious to see whether it will come out before or after Jurassic Park Survival. Still, the fact that we’ll get two single-player dino games is a already big win for most of us.

Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!

  1. I love this world of videogames that lacks interactivity with the environment, just QTEs and crappy animations even to pick items. Better watch a movie.

  2. I’ve got 10 bucks here that say that the final game will look nothing like this.

    1. and yet animations and gameplay will be just this. It can’t be worse. Game of course will benefit from a downgrade.

Because and I quote “promises are worse than lies“.

  3. something I was worried about with Unreal 5 is starting to happen… all the games are starting to look like asset flips, just download some plants, dump them on a landscape. done.

I love Unreal Engine but the ‘creativity’ is starting to disappear.

  4. “Just a heads up, though – there aren’t any dinosaurs in this video”

There is one at 5:06 but it’s a really small one. Needs big dinosaurs. Really, really big dinosaurs and big guns to kill them. It might be a game for me if it turns out good.

  5. amazing graphics ! inwas blown away from 06:20 .. we have come far to get videogames look photorealistic almost ( aaalmoost…! ) hollywoodmovie realism

  6. Another amateur tech demo with 0 gameplay made with Stutterengine 5.

    LoOk At ThE 4k GraPhiCs!

Why is every Unreal developer a useless asset-flipping amateur whose only coding experience comes from watching Unreal Engine Youtube videos.

A WALKING SIMULATOR IS NOT A GAME. Kojima is a moron.

If you can’t code an actual game, get out of game development, you are wasting bandwidth with your garbage and scamming people into buying a walking simulator that even a monkey could make.
