Fumi Games has released a short but sweet gameplay clip from its upcoming noir FPS game that is heavily inspired by Disney’s Micky Mouse.
Mouse will look like those cartoons from the 1930s with a noir vibe. Imagine it’s got that classic rubber hose animation style too. The game will be all about the story, taking you on an exciting adventure through a city full of danger and corruption.
In this game, you’ll step into the shoes of John Mouston, a private detective. You’ll get to use cool weapons from the mid-century like the Revolver, Tommy Gun, Hammer, Carcano, and Dynamite. And yes, you’ll also be able to solve mysteries and take on various challenges.

We first reported on this FPS in May 2023. And, to be honest, I love everything about it. It has great style and shooting mechanics. The shotgun in this clip also feels great. And yes, you’ll be able to decapitate your enemies. So, I wouldn’t call it a PG-13 Micky Mouse game.

Mouse has a great cartoon style. Now some may call it a Cuphead copycat but that’s not really accurate. And I get it, this may not be your… cup of tea. However, it’s a game I’m really looking forward to. From what I’ve seen, Mouse has excellent shooting mechanics (as well as great enemy reactions), has an amazing art style, and it comes with some Bioshock vibes.

This is looking like a fun whimsical game if it turns out to be well done. At least it’s something different and imo the gaming industry needs more of something different.
The industry needs more innovative and diverse game design, difference in art-style doesn’t mean different or unique overall, Steam is filled with games with unique art-styles but most of them play and feel like any other or even worse
I didn’t mention art style or say that it was something unique. I’m not sure why you replied to my comment but anyway once again the game is looking fun and whimsical. To me that is different from the standard fare for the last several years.
As far as what Steam is loaded up with…..it’s loaded up with sh*t mostly. I don’t visit that part of the neighborhood.

GoG has a rather strict curation process that is done by hand, similar to Nintendo on Switch. If the game is trash it won’t be allowed on GoG. Steam allows anything on their platform, Valve uses AI to curate.
I like Steam and GOG. That’s where I buy all of my games but Steam is without a doubt full of utter trash games that no one should spend their money on. Last I heard there were around 50,000 games on Steam and that doesn’t include DLC or anything else.
I don’t even do searches for games on Steam. I know in advance what games I want to buy before ever visiting the Store.
The visual cues are already really poor because it’s a black & white game….but you’re also going to block half the screen with a giant gun and smoke each time you fire?
This is a studio that never made a game before it seems, but my god, put some basic intelligence into your design. No one wants to see half their screen blocked when firing.

Looks great to be honest, but as you said it needs a little more competence or it will just be like the dozens of Steam games that tried the unique art-style gimmick to stand out and promote with fancy screenshots but ended up failing miserably because there is no solid ideas behind the smoke and mirrors
