Square Enix has just released Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis on smartphones and PC gamers can already use an Android emulator in order to enjoy it at 4K.
YouTube’s ‘KyoKat PC Gameplay | Benchmark‘ has shared the following video, showcasing Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis running on PC. In order to play this new FF game, the YouTuber used Bluestacks. However, you can also use LD Player 9 or Nox Player in order to run Ever Crisis on PC.
Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis lets you relive the most memorable moments from FFVII and experience the journey of a young hero Sephiroth.
Players will experience both classic and new stories within the FFVII universe presented in a retro-style look combined with modern, beautifully rendered graphics. Players will team up with their favorite characters and customize each one with iconic gear and weapons to defeat powerful opponents.
Now since this is a free-to-play game, I don’t know whether it has any frustrating pay-to-win mechanics. I haven’t played it yet so I don’t really know. Early reports suggest that this is a gacha game and Square Enix went crazy with its monetization.
For instance, Solo Content missions cost stamina. As such, if you run out of stamina, you’ll have to wait for it to refill or pay cash. So yeah, the game will be blocking your progress. However, if you don’t mind waiting, then you may enjoy it.

I played yesterday for almost an hour. Yes, the stamina is a pain in the *ss and is a gacha nightmare. I can only see my self playing it no more than 30 minutes each time because going in to the main menu and seeing a dozen of “Waste your money here” buttons freaks me out. It could be a nice game to play on short bus/subway/train travels, I’m curious about “The First Solidier”, I’ve never played that.
so does this have an actual story or its just parts from the game?
Both. It’s separated in levels but follows the story, dialogues included.
Shame it’s a gatcha mess. They even figured out how to remake the music without making it a jumbled up mish mash of new elements. (Specifically the Hurry Up theme as a great example. Same with Anxiety) Not that you can hear them well underneath the obnoxiously loud SE.
I don’t understand why they couldn’t just have made a whole new remaster of the full original game in this style. Everyone wins, everyone can play the game they prefer. Reboot or faithful. What a damn shame. Once again we are stuck with old, outdated blurry original , or an unfaithful “Remake”. And now this episodic gatcha insult that i’m sure will be bled dry and taken offline shortly. And those who wanted a faithful 3D remake or at least a proper remaster are still left out to dry.
Changes they made to “unfaithful” remake are not that big and make sense if you think about it, censorship aside. And it plays and looks so much better then outdated turn based jrpg, jrpgs aside from “tales of” and enchanted arms aged like milk, boring turn based combat that ends up in always choosing attack because spells and effect work only on trash mobs so there is no point using them, bosses immune to all statuses so once again just spam attack… yeah… FF devs said long time ago jrpgs are turn based due technical limitations, nothing more and then it just stayed for year well into ps2 early ps3 when they finally stopped using outdated turn based combat. While turn based combat can be fun like in bg3 or star rail old take on it especially in case of jrpg is just boring mess im glad they do remakes with more modern combat.
Outdated my a*s, there is nothing outdated in turn based combat, its called Strategy.
if you cant play and always choose attack thats your problem, FF games play just as fine as they did on release, 10, 9, 12, 6 whataver
Lost Odyssey was modern turn based game and its great, amazing even, Fantasian from same dev came out as Apple Arcade exclusive and it received great praise .
Persona games are no less popular now and persona 5 is best seller, even thou i personally dont like the persona series because of teenage school setting, and prefer other games in the series that have darker tones.
Shadow hearts 1, 2, 3 were amazing games that me and many people still replay, especially shadow hearts 2, and there is spiritual successor been worked on, i think this series does a great job to mix action + turn based combat.
There are many more smaller turn based games that people buy.
People still to this day mod FF7 PC version and turned it into PS2 level of game, even adding professional sounding voice overs for the text bubbles.
