Remnant 2 feature-2

Remnant 2 surpasses one million sales in a week

Gearbox has announced that Gunfire’s Remnant 2 has surpassed one million sales on all platforms in its first week. As such, this new third-person shooter is already a big success.

David Adams of Gunfire Games said:

“To everyone who helped us achieve this amazing milestone, thank you for your unwavering support. This was a multi-year journey for us and we couldn’t be happier to see fans having such a great time with a game we put our heart and soul into.”

Yoon Im with Gearbox Publishing added:

“REMNANT II exceeded our expectations. As a commercial and critical hit, we’re incredibly proud of the Gunfire team and everyone here at Gearbox Publishing who brought this title to life. As excited as we are, we’re incredibly thankful to the Remnant community who supported us and the Gunfire team during development. To the new Remnant fans who joined our community in the past week, we’re thrilled you joined us on this journey.”

In order to celebrate the one million sales goal of Remnant 2, Gearbox released the following accolades trailer.

As we’ve already reported, Remnant 2 is one of the first games using Unreal Engine 5. It’s also the first game that uses UE5’s Nanite to eliminate geometry pop-ins. That is of course excluding Fortnite.

Gunfire Games has stated that it’s currently looking into improving overall performance, and addressing crashes and issues with higher-end systems. So, here is hoping that the team will further optimize this game via some post-launch updates.

    1. You forgot what early PS4 games look like. Or what early UE4 games look like (Gears 4 is an exception to this rule)

    2. The most advanced engine with sh*t assets will only result in sh*t graphics, the engine alone won’t magically make the game beautiful

    3. Apparently you have not played the game. It looks much better than the videos lead you to believe. Some of the stages look darn right really good. It’s a bit of a dog on my GPU however with a RTX 3080 I am getting around 50+fps on average in 4k DLSS quality on high preset with shadows on medium.

Beyond the graphics they made this game a lot more difficult than the first one and I haven’t finished the first boss yet with the hunter. I made some choice mistakes and purchased a worthless special shot, but it has been a lot of fun even though I will probably reroll my class at this point.

  1. Been having a lot of fun with this so far, glad it’s been a hit. Performance def needs some work but I haven’t had any major issues so far.

    1. I don’t know how people on this site sh*t on Dark Souls on every occasion but they have so much sympathy for this thing

      1. Mouse and keyboard controls feel like you’re playing with a controller. The movement and camera control are janky and the combat itself is very unsatisfying.
I don’t like this game, but it is a masterpiece compared to sh*t souls.
Elden ring and Sekiro are both great games though.

        1. It’s a console game, and even as a PC gamer i prefer DS as an Action/RPG rather than that ret*rded Diablo click-fest.
Playing a sh*t game with your favorite peripherals doesn’t make it any better, a sh*t game remains a sh*t game even with telepathic controls.

          1. ARPG games like Diablo are satisfying, and can be therapeutic/ claming when you get to end games.
The same can’t be said about DS games. I’m honestly incapable of understanding what people see in these games.
To me, they are by far the worst video games I’ve ever palyed, and I’ve been playing games for +24 years.
Mouse and keyboard make all the difference.

          2. Seems like we’re not going to agree on this one, Diablo-like games are ret*rded and grindy AF for me, and i’m just as incapable as you to understand what the hell people like in this trash.
“they are by far the worst video games I’ve ever palyed”
You liked Elden Ring, DS can’t be the worst video game you ever played, they’re nearly identical
“Mouse and keyboard make all the difference”
Depends on the genre, this is not suitable for everything, PC isn’t about KB&M only, it’s about having the choice to play with both controller AND KB&M depending on the game/preference

          3. I don’t play ARPGs anymore, but I can understand the appeal. I just can’t waste my time on video games.
M&KB is objectively superior to controllers regardless of genre, and it’s a fact. How can you compare the precision of your thumb with your entire arm, hand, and fingers? There’s a reason games on consoles have camera assist, aim assist, auto center, auto lock, and all sorts of limitations.
Also, PC was about M&KB until people who played on consoles grew up and started playing on PC, then claimed PC is about options.

          4. “M&KB is objectively superior to controllers regardless of genre”
You’re objectively wrong, on a racing game how you can moderately brake or accelerate ? All you can do is full throttle, same goes for steering because of the lack of analog controls, i remember how it was clunky to play Splinter Cell on PC because the character has a gearbox where you have to upshift/downshift with the mouse wheel to move, this was ridiculous.
There’s nothing wrong about being a KB&M cultist and play everything on this setup, but it’s not objectively better regardless of the game, it’s everything but an objective statement

          5. Using mouse wheel to adjust your speed is perfect.
Fighting games = people buy keyboard because with controllers you can only use a couple of fingers (This is why games on consoles need little to no player input)
Stealth games = Classic thief games which happen to be the best stealth games of all time are exclusive to PC. M&K are objectively superior because you can have multiple simultaneous input while you are very limited with a controller. Brain dead developers should take advantage of mouse wheel more often.
Driving games = PC is also objectively superior, If you use WASD, your middle finger has simultaneous access to W and S, then you use two fingers to steer left and right (without a delay), then you’d still have two fingers and your entire right arm free for camera controls.
You obviously grew up using controllers, and at this point, I think you’re used to them, otherwise you’d never use a controller for driving games.

          6. “You obviously grew up using controllers, and at this point, I think you’re used to them, otherwise you’d never use a controller for driving games.”
Lol i could say the same thing about you and KB&M, my older brother is as stubborn as you when it comes to using a controller, it’s like it’s made of thorns, i’m actually happy that i could use both without any problem.

Your entire point about KB&M and Driving games is just a desperate attempt to justifie your preference lol, as i said, nothing wrong with you being a KB&M fanatic, just admit it’s a preference and not how the universe was created, a controller is technically and mathematically more intuitive and accurate for driving than a keyboard.

Never said anything about fighting games.

“Classic thief games which happen to be the best stealth games of all time”
I’ll personally give this title to the classic Splinter Cell games, and no there’s no “best game of all time” it doesn’t exist, the only thing that really exists is your preference

          7. You’re arguing the tip of your right thumb controlling analog gives you more accuracy than your entire arm, hand, and fingers controlling a device that is made and perfected (throughout history) for precision and control.
Just say you don’t have an argument because you’re used to controllers. Using inferior controls is fine, but don’t pretend it’s subjective.

          8. An entire arm or even a crane can only do 2 things with a keyboard button, press or not press, just stop please or you’re gonna end up telling us that even real cars control better with a keyboard and a mouse

          9. You’re telling me that digital controls are better than analog controls for steer/gas/brake and i’m the irrational one ? So better ditch that steering wheel out of my car and get a keyboard instead, c’mon, you’re in a battle against common sense at this point.

  2. Is this game any better than the first one? Tried playing the first one a few times. It’s way too boring to stay invested. It doesn’t help that the art and world and weapons are so damn generic.

    1. It’s even more generic, but now it comes with exxxxtra wokeness.
Played it for some 30 minutes and almost puke 5 times.

        1. Well, as I said, only played for few minutes, but you start the game with a brave dark skinned wahman on your tail and that thing won’t shut up about the most shïttiest stuff you’ll ever hear.
I just can’t stand bad/horrible/disgusting writing. I mean, I’m trying to have a good time playing games, but it’s better to watch Bollywood these days. Uninstalled that pile of shït, installed GR: Future Soldier and had a great silly fun time.
