Earlier this week, we shared a 4K Texture Pack for Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Created by modder ‘Instanity’, that pack improved the game’s main/story characters. And, as the title implies, the modder has released a similar mod/texture pack for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.
But what does the modder consider main/story characters? Simply put, all the characters that appear in the game’s cut-scenes are considered story characters. These are the characters that will be overhauled with this pack. Thus, you should not expect your average NPCs to suddenly look better.
You can download this 4K Texture Pack from here. Below you can also find some screenshots from it.
Lastly, we suggest using Reshade Ray Tracing alongside this 4K Texture Pack. Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is a really old game, and can greatly benefit from Reshade Ray Tracing. NVIDIA owners can also use Freestyle in order to add SSRTGI (Screen Space Ray Traced Global Illumination).
Have fun!

Loved that game was one that got me hooked on the series. Unfortunately, It went down starting from Syndicate/Origins time
AsCreed 3 are atrocities on PC , then IV came out and its awesome. Agreed with you after that Im not interested at all with Ass Creed , try Unity a bit and like the different control it have but thats just it
I lost interest in textures packs for most games, especially post-2010s games, which already had good textures, like AC Black Flag. It doesn’t feel worth it anymore.
What we need are lighting mods.
Recent RTX mods are much more impressive game changers than any texture pack.
Just search for “Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind – Official Nvidia RTX Remix Overview” on Youtube…

Its a bit more involving to make RT mod of a game than higher texture. RTX remix promised easy path but only for certain DX9 games AFAIK, while other games needs to recreate texture that contains PBR material texture data in order to make RT lighting able to recognize what kind of material it is
Black flag was the last AC game I played, enjoyed and completed. Origins was good but got bored have not retuned to the AC series since.
Freestyle SSRTGI doesn’t seem to work in Black Flag however Pascal Gilcher’s Reshade version does. Nvidia’s version kind sucks and is way too dumbed down so you can’t tweak it like the full version. Plus since neither actually uses RT cores Pascal’s version can be used on AMD cards with the same and sometime better performance.
You may also have to apply a LAA 4GB patch to the EXE
really deserves a remaster
