Rumor: Ubisoft is working on a new Splinter Cell game that will be a “more stealthy version of Assassin’s Creed”

Splinter Cell fans, we’ve got some good news for you today. According to industry insider Tom Henderson, there is a Splinter Cell game that is currently in early development. Yeap, we might finally get a new Splinter Cell game, though we should note that you must take everything you are about to read with a grain of salt.

Tom Henderson claims that this new Splinter Cell game is pitched as a stealthy version of Assassin’s Creed. Moreover, it will have environments similar to those of Halo Infinite. For what it’s worth, Halo Infinite does not feature an open-world map. Instead, the game has sandbox/hub areas, filled with side-quests, that players can explore until they reach a main mission.

Now if this more “stealthier” version of Assassin’s Creed is similar to the first AC game, then I’ll be fine with it. After all, the original Assassin’s Creed game had some interesting ideas. However, if Ubisoft wants to turn Odyssey or Origins into a Splinter Cell game, then that’s a no go for me.

In conclusion, this doesn’t really sound THAT bad. A new Splinter Cell game with hub areas that you can explore doesn’t sound THAT bad. That is of course unless Ubisoft drops the ball on the main missions and fills the game with towers, collectibles, and all the useless things we’ve seen in the Assassin’s Creed/Far Cry games. And, since this is Ubisoft we’re talking about, chances are that it will do everything to monetize every aspect of it. After all, Ubisoft is the first company that is offering NFTs in its games.

Tom Henderson did not provide any additional details on this new Splinter Cell game. As such, we don’t know when it will come out and what platforms it will target. We also don’t know when Ubisoft will officially announce it.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Ubisoft and open world insanity, splinter cell & open world, this 2 things should never be in the same sentence
at this point, ubisoft is an open world copycat factory, if ubi acquired the PACMAN license they will make it open world, i don’t know how but they will find a way to make it open world

    1. Pacman has plenty of games unrelated to the original maze game. 2d platformers, adventure games and even racing games

      1. These mascot characters have plenty of games unrelated to their origins, both bomberman and pacman have racing games for example.

  2. Splinter Cell would benefit more of an Deus Ex style immersive whatever.

“Splinter Cell fans, we’ve got some good news for you today.”

Is this trolling or does John don’t know who reads his garbage takes?

    1. Don’t know why people downvoted you, it’s just your personal taste.
Guess you’re not allowed to have a taste of your own.

      ¯_(?)_/¯

      1. Well, I’m not the police either, but… How about live him be? Does his taste in c0cks mess with your life? Just chill mate. Leave the dude alone with his love for weiners.

  3. oh, nice. another IP to be the same exact game ubisoft was making for the last 10 years, so a bunch of literal rapists can earn another grand.

  4. This one is going to crash….and crash hard it will…i don’t think many of you here have the hardware to support the requirements for 100gb of genders,38+gb of soy material, and on top of that around 40gb of random trash that no one asked or wanted to be in this upcoming game…let the games begin and see what the future brings

  5. yes yes…but how does she identify? will it have an impact on game play if she is just gay or will she have special abilities if “it” is say genderfluid neutral thing?

  6. INB4 Ironside is back to voice Samantha Fisher, the second trans operator in the Tom Clancy’s series (and i say second because there’s probably one already on Siege).
What a weird timeline we live in.

  7. at one hand open world splinter cell sounds meh, on the other hand if they made it like halo, meaning not really open world but having large bases to infiltrate like project igi, could be good.

Who am i kidding this is ubisoft, its gonna be trash.

  8. Might be a bit contentious opinion but I’d much rather have Ubisoft doing a proper next-gen Remake of the first SC using latest rendering tech via AnvilNext+ engine (a la Dead Space Remake project) than another Ubisoft (mostly night-time) open world snoozefest with just an added Sam Fisher skin.
