God of War feature

No, Sony has not removed the “Only on Playstation” tag from God of War, does not hint at a PC release

Last night, a rumor surfaced about the removal of a “Only on Playstation” tag. While we’ve already debunked that rumor, it appears that some websites are already reporting on this fake rumor. Therefore, and since we were the ones that did all the investigation, we’ve decided to tell you what is really going on.

This rumor originates from Twitter user “AP”. AP found out that the US PSN Store page of God of War does not feature the “Only on Playstation” tag and assumed that Sony had removed it. However, God of War never had a “Only on Playstation” tag.

In short, Sony has not removed any tags from the game. Not only that, but the European PSN Store lists God of War as a PlayStation exclusive. Furthermore, both Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding are not listed as PS4 exclusive games.

It’s really unfortunate that some websites have not done their homework and report fake news. So before this explodes, no. Sony does not hint at God of War coming out on any other platform.

        1. It’s not a trash game. It’s definitely not the 47/10 Sony girls think it is but it was a solid game for sure. Wouldn’t say 10/10, maybe 7/10.

          1. i will give it more than 7 personally but its far from a 10 imo, god of war 3 and god of war 2 are still my favorites

      1. It’s more Darksiders than God of War but all the Sony ponies go “OMG INNOVATIVE SO ORIGINAL REVOLUTIONARY:” as if castleroids haven’t been around 35 years.

        1. ? You’re depiction is very apt. I really do think GOW ’18 is trash though when you put aside the fact that its a soft reboot and consider the likely reality that classic GOW is now dead and will forever remain in the shadow realm because of it. There’s no hope for the games that made this franchise stand out in its hey days leading it to become the staple in the industry that it is today, after a brief hiatus Santa Monica greets eager fans with…a Last of Us clone. From an amazing, visceral and grand spectacle to generic over-the-shoulder cinematic Sony exclusive. How is this game not trash?

          1. Wow out of everything i wrote that’s what gets your attention? Are you mentally challenged by any chance?

          2. Not at all, I was embittered by my run in with trolls recently. Sorry.

  1. well since it never had the tag it could be coming to PC. Corey taylor the GOW’s director said he would like to see the game on PC. there will come time where all PS4 exclusives will be on PC. and that’s where the PS4 will be put to rest.

    1. That’s what I think also. PC gaming revenue has gone way up over the last few years and MS has noticed this and acted on it. Sony is getting their wake up call as well but they are delaying and missing out on hundreds of millions of dollars for now. It’s a dinosaur mindset to have console exclusives these days.

      1. Nearly all PC revenue comes from F2P/Online games with micro-transactions.
The single player scene is much smaller on PC than consoles.

        1. “Nearly all” is an exaggeration but you’re right that the single player scene is smaller on PC than consoles but money is laying on the table to be had by Sony if they want it.

There is a reason that MS is porting the Halo games to PC. They are making a lot of money on it.

          1. It’s not an exaggeration, this is true for all platforms, but even more so for PC, which is quite sad.

There may be active communities keeping alive some SP games via modding, but it’s a drop in the bucket.

The only reason MS has changed their approach was because they utterly failed and lost this gen.

If Sony were to make significantly more money by having their whole catalogue on PC, they would have done it. Exclusivity and closed ecosystems can pay off if done right, just look at Apple…

The main reason the HZD port happened was because Kojima already did all the work optimizing the engine for PC, still the only reason is to experiment and see how many people they can hook into the PS ecosystem, because the sequel will be a PS5 exclusive.

    2. lmao PC beggars got ONE game and think that all of a sudden every console exclusive that ever existed is coming to PC.

        1. Stop talking to this loser dude, it’s not even fair, at this point he could open a failshop, and even then he’ll fail in this business

      1. We’re hardly beggars. Every year tens of billions of dollars are spent on PC games.

Did you ever think you would see the Halo games ported to PC? It was unimaginable only a few years ago.

The old ways of thinking are being cast aside.

          1. What the hell has that to do with anything? Halo CE was originally released on PC and Halo 2 was released on PC if you were willing to switch to the garbage Vista OS that MS was pushing..

The bottom line is that the Halo games after Halo 2 were Xbox exclusives and now they are not.

Times are changing. Console exclusives will become a thing of the past.

          2. I was out of line and I apologize. I got into a fight with my GF and I think she broke one of my ribs. I am in pain right now but that dosen’t excuse my rudeness.

          3. Damn dude a broken rib, physical violence in a couple is not a good thing
            Get well soon

          4. No. Halo 1 and 2 launched on PC years after release, both of which were terrible ports. No Halo game has been seen on PC since Halo 2 except Spartan and Halo Wars, neither of which count.

      2. lets be honest each gen there is less and less exclusives coming to consoles, as someone who owned all the sony platforms ive seen that progressing to less and less reason to own a console…just compare the ps4 exclusives to ps3 exclusives there are far less:(naughty dog released 4 games on ps3 while on ps4 only 2 last of us 2 was not yet released and uncharted lost legacy is more an expansion pack than a full game)…hell even add consoles multiplatform exclusives to the mix you will see this gen was the most lackluster console generation ever since the 80’s big videogame crash and no only in term of exclusives, and i dont see this changing, exclusives are a thing of a past they will still exist but less and less often and fewer…and also less essentials.

and also the cost and work needed for “triple a” games means only first party studios will continue doing that.

  2. Too bad this game would had benefitted greatly for fps above 60,especially in the hardest fights like the queen of the valkyries or the challenges of muspelnheim

  3. Old website archive shows “only on Playstation” tag. It isn’t there anymore. Not that it matters because Horizon was a big step in the right direction. I can see other games coming to PC at some point. These things don’t matter anymore imo.
