First low-resolution screenshots leaked for Capcom’s new Resident Evil game, Project Resistance

A couple of hours ago we informed you about the new Resident Evil game that Capcom is currently working on. And it appears that its first low-resolution screenshots have been leaked via its official YouTube video.

Below you can find the YouTube video thumbnails. I’ve also included a larger image, so be sure to open it in a new tab. Of course the larger images are full of artifacts. However, they will give you a slight idea of what you can expect from this new RE game.

As we can clearly see, Project Resistance is not the Resident Evil 3 Remake a lot of RE fans have been hoping for. Instead, and as we guessed, this looks like a spin-off title.

These thumbnails give me a Left4Dead impression so we’re either looking at a new part or a remake of Resident Evil Outbreak, or a game similar to Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. If the last image is anything to go by, Project Resistance will support co-op with up to four players.

As we’ve already reported, Capcom will officially reveal this new RE game on September 3rd. Although we don’t have any additional details about it, we do know that it will release on Steam.

Enjoy the following images!

UPDATE:

Here are the screenshots in higher resolution.

  1. My theory is a co-op “live service” game akin to the recently shown avengers game. Expect microtransactions galore if I’m (unfortunately) correct.

    1. Going by those screen shots alone i am with you. I bet you they would make an Outbreak kind of game as a live cr@p.

    2. Pretty sure there is no if with this one. This has online-only expiration date trash, plastered all over it.

  2. Definitely looks like a left 4 dead/warhammer: vermintide 2 knock off… which is not a bad thing. Great news!!! These games are damn fun!!!

  3. I really hope it’s a new Outbreak game, because I’ve been wanting 4 player co-op, puzzle horror action for well over a decade now.

  4. It’s outbreak REMAKE you fools.
Those visuals :O meterials, faces, skins damn they really look great even better than in RE2R and DMC5

      1. Due to the game’s title and scheduled year of release I was assuming it was basically Resident Evil Orange Man Bad Edition, lol!

    1. They’ve done a good job revitilazing the Franchise and it makes excellent business sense to stick with such a solid Brand/Franchise rather than attempting to build one from scratch.

These Companies are a business first and creatives fifth.

  5. I’d guess it might be a squeal to outbreak which would be awesome since the last two were held back due to hardware limitations.
