Dying Light will receive 10 free DLCs in the next 12 months

Techland has announced that the team is developing new content for Dying Light. As the press release reads, original content is already in the works and the game’s fans can expect to face new challenging enemies, master new gameplay mechanics, solve more Harran mysteries, and even explore never-seen-before locations.

This basically translates to ten pieces of DLC in the first twelve months – available free for all players, across all platforms.

Free DLCs will include new locations, story-driven quests, gameplay mechanics, weapons, enemies, and more. Simultaneously, the game will receive gameplay improvements and balance tweaks as well as more frequent community events – up to 4 per quarter. Techland also prepares to launch a dedicated community platform through which fans will have an influence on what kind of new content is created – more details about the platform will be announced soon.

The first new content for Dying Light – labelled Content Drop #0 – will launch for free in the coming weeks with the focus on new enemies. This Drop #0 is a taste of the new things coming to the game, before the “10 free DLCs in 12 months” campaign fully launches later this year.

Enjoy!

  1. Too little too late ? I mean the game was fun. Played 100 hours with friends but… i think there aren’t alot of people playing this anymore. Not sure the manpower is worth.

    1. Is an oddly timed release but I think you’ll find more ppl are playing this than you imagine. Its prob the greatest Zombie game ever released, there are no alternatives.

        1. Well actually I dont think I am. Left For Dead 2 – what with its amazing, much talked about SP campaign? LMAO. Silly really to compare a basically MP FPS to this game. Thought you might say Resident Evil or something. But even then its not as good. Its a different type of game (survial horror). L4D2 is prob the greatest MP Zombie game yes. But DL is prob the greatest SP Zombie game ever. And no, I dont think thats stretching it abit. Infact since I said it the more I think its true with people agreeing. There is no alternative. L4D2 is awesome, this is too.

          1. ” Its prob the greatest Zombie game ever released, ”

TIL the title for “best game” cannot be achieved if a game is multiplayer focused.

      1. Oh plz you understand what i mean… if it would’ve been 6months after release it would’ve had much more impact.

    2. It is indeed the best Zombie game ever. I never finished the “The Following” story line, i grew bored before i could finish it.

      Fun times.

  2. Free to all owners of Dying Light or just to those who own the game’s season pass?

Forgive my natural cynicism in asking but we’re talking about the company whose season pass for Dying Light features only 3 of the 7 available pieces of DLC.

    1. That and EA are guilty of giving out “free” DLC for only those who bought into that whopping £40 season pass for BF1. It’s actually a middle finger to those who just bought the standard game, in which they get nothing, glad I didn’t buy into the pass though, as the community is leaving for other shooters out there.

      1. EA: Eternal Avarice.

(Although, to be fair to them, the pricing model for Titanfall 2 has thus far been very fair by most modern triple-A publisher standards.)

        1. I thought the pricing model was down to Respawn as they own the IP and EA publishing it for them.

  3. WOW, i have not played this game but when i buy it for mere pennies i will have a lot of contnet.

HEY TECHLAND DO CHROME 2 AND MAKE IT A OPEN WORLD ACTION RPG. DO IT, DO IT…DOOOO IT!!!

    1. Why? According to Wikipedia, that alreay exists, since the Following expansion.

“The expansion released alongside Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition, which includes the base game, all the downloadable content and content updates, and the expansion.”

  4. I don’t like the game but GOG release and 3 years of support and free DLCs, Nice & it still have a nice healthy player base.

5k people playing it right now on steam (god knows how many on GOG) vs. Dawn of War III with 700 players which was released 2 months ago and has a forced online crap in it.
