The Surge – Target, Loot and Equip Trailer

Focus Home Interactive has released a new trailer for Deck13’s upcoming action RPG, The Surge, highlighting the game’s limb-slicing loot system in all its bloody, brutal glory.

The Surge gives players greater control over what they loot from defeated enemies. During combat, they can individually target specific body parts, which they can damage with a wise combination of vertical and horizontal attacks to then slice off – and what part they dismember directly determines what piece of equipment they loot.

The Surge releases on May 16th!

    1. I just think it’s dumb that the game takes place in this sci-fi future with robots yet you fight by smacking people with a big stick.

        1. I didn’t like Revengeance at all, but after rewatching the trailer for The Surge, I’m actually kind of interested. Hitting robots with sticks is dumb, but the gameplay and gear look fun.

          1. ballistic bullets do f**k all to armored targets
you’ll need missiles and explosives to get through armored targets
and you’re playing as just a guy with an exo suit, i’m sure later in the game you’ll get to find some “ranged-weapons” but i doubt they’ll be effective

as for hitting robots with sticks, well.. you’re gonna get much better weapons down the path so the “sticks” are basiclly your starters weapons

          2. I hope you can dress up like a stick in the game to fool the enemy. No one ever suspects the lone stick just standing conspicuously in the corner.

          3. i wonder if there is gonna be any magic in this game
or “technology based magic” of some kind
lords of the fallen had quite a few useful spells for each built but Solace was just unbeatable in terms of raw power (you literally had a spell which knocks out foes if they touch you)

one thing worries me, this game is 45$
and now that’s suspiciouslly low price for a pre-order (not saying anything yet but i know it doesn’t have PvP and you can’t customize your character)
i wonder if the game is short, and if it has any replayability

          4. I’m in no rush to find out. I never buy “new” games until at least 3-4 months after they release anyways.

          5. yeah that’s how gaming is nowadays… there is no such thing as a bug-free release, though we might be in a suprise
wait for the reviews to see if this game is bug-free

          6. I won’t be playing any games until around October anyways, go I have time to check the reviews.
