Hitman Game of The Year Edition Launched

Since IO Interactives split from Square Enix we haven’t really heard anything much about Hitman and where the game is heaeding but now IO Interactive have come out and said there is much more Hitman on the way, beginning with the Game of The Year Edition.

HITMAN - Game of the Year Edition

After Square Enix and IO Interactives departure from themselves IO Interactive has said in a blog post that the company has taken time to reflect on itself to correctly determine where the franchise will lead to. Hakan Abrak the chief executive officer at IO Interactive explains in the blog post that he believes that the Game of the Year content has established a good foundation for future game releases, but what is the main contributor is the support from the players.

“Your support will directly help us to continue on our independent journey towards the next Hitman game and beyond,” reads Abrak’s blog post. “We’re in this together and we promise that we will channel our passion and skills to shine through in everything that comes from this studio.”

“One last thing about our next Hitman game,” added Abrak. “I want to let you know that we’re making great progress, and we have exciting new features and some franchise firsts, which we can’t wait to tell you all about. You’ll have to wait a little longer as we don’t plan to start talking about that until some point in 2018.”

    1. To me “Game Of The Year” tag just means that the came comes with all the DLCs that were sold separately previous to GOTY release rather than meaning that the game was awarded some title, in this case Game Of The Year. Without the stupid “episodic gaming” gimmick that Squenix kept shoving into its games it means that we’ll just get the whole game in one package which is how it should’ve originally been released.

    1. Did he really ? omfg. This is bad. I mean, i as a Nvidia customer, i want AMD to succeed. Otherwise we all fked.

      1. AMD and Intel just announced they are cooperating on integrating an AMD GPU onto an Intel CPU. Then the news breaks that a lead AMD GPU guy is moving over to Intel. It’s all very obvious, nobody got fired, nobody got cheated and nobody is in danger. Intel has arranged a deal AMD couldn’t refuse, which involves them sharing some of their GPU expertise, that’s all.

      1. He didn’t, there is no evidence to support that he was fired, but there is evidence to show that he retired.

      2. His goodbye memo to AMD reads that he only took a break of 40 days, not “months”. That’s barely over a month. And with this Intel-AMD laptop joint venture I would guess that he silently transitioned to Intel during this time rather than actually taking much time off. Clearly both companies are in close communication recently and a switch like this will be signed off by both parties.

    2. He retired. Of course there is the possibility that he was given the option of retirement or being fired. Lisa Su needs someone to run RTG and Koduri was on a Sabbatical.

AMD isn’t done. People have been saying that year after year after year and it never happens.

    1. Its so damn good…have same problem as you thou. Since I REALLY dig sandbox aspect of it. Have almost 10 hours played while only playing 1 episode. Which I’am still not done with! I simply cannot move on! I wanna keep trying different stuff…
Took a break from it but now Im worried to go back since i know just how many hours is waiting for me in it. And they just keep adding more.

As much as I hate episodic games…I’m mad that I was not playing it as it was being released. This is like one game where I can understand it. Its not something you play for an hour and then wait months for more.

    1. Yeah, the elusive targets got patched back in with the adjoining patch, which is probably the only good part of this new release, honestly.

  1. I don’t either but it seems most people do buy on launch or shortly after. I was just reading about Call of Duty: WWII having over 500 million dollars in sales in just 3 days. That’s around 8.5 million units. I imagine most of those are kids buying for their console to play with their friends in multiplayer.

  2. I purchased the “Complete” Experience…..

…. And now I have to pay more for the GOTY extra mission than the individual episodes themselves cost.

And to top it all off, the GOTY extra mission is a weak piece of sh*t.

Yeah, sorry IO, but you’re really not off to the best start if you’re really planning on keeping the game going long-term. Especially as you still haven’t removed the always-online DRM…….

  3. POTENTIALLY IMPORTANT, FROM THE YOUTUBE COMMENTS:

“The game was perfect before, now with one 3.8 gb patch its all f**ked up. Back to the old stuttering, the menus are pure black and white so its so bright. On top of that when i shoot a woman, or ANYONE for that matter they make the same sound that sounds like a dude getting shot, not a woman……?”

Hold your horses, nobody buy anything just yet.
