  1. What kind of games are these? I’ve seen DB and Naruto games, the look be some sort of fighting game, but never really been clear of what they are all about, do they have a story line? Campaign? They look cool, I’ve never really been a fan of Dragon Ball, but that’s not from any particular dislike, just never sat down and watched it, I think I was daunted by what looks to be a massive mythos so didn’t know where to begin.
Would a game like this be useless if your not a huge fan of the show?

    1. Long story short, DB and DBZ were a lot like power rangers. They meet an enemy that is way more powerful, they fight. Get beat up, find some sort of power they didn’t realize they had and perform a move that kills the enemy with little effort. Rinse and repeat with only a few exceptions to the rule.

The unfortunate thing about the series is that there is a lot of drama and tons of dialogue to keep the series fluffed, like with most animes. I’d recommend watching some of the movies though, they are more focused on the action and less on needless dialogue and drama.

The first DBZ movie I watched was “Tree of Life”, the animation is probably aged however when I watched it in my youth it got me hooked on the series, was even willing to watch through several episodes of “powering up” just to see the short fight scenes, lol.

    2. This game is based around correcting an alternative history. You’ll definitely get more from the game by familiarizing with the series/characters.

  2. If it’s very heavily RNG driven like the first one and overly repetitive then I’ll pass.

  3. Wasn’t a fan of the in-game lobby, would’ve much rather had a traditional lobby instead of having to run around and hope your “trainer” was there this time around. I wouldn’t mind if they had it optional though for those that like the social aspect and showing off their custom character. For me personally I’d rather have the ability to just click where I want to go and check out the stores or join a queue if need be.

The fighting system was okay, although improvements could be made on refocusing during fights, also less emphasis on the quest grinding to achieve skills, I wouldn’t mind having the option to purchase additional skills more readily available. Do something to keep people playing multiplayer, and especially Versus PvP combat.

The limitations of skills I have mixed feelings on. I believe you should be able to power up your character regardless if theres a skill involved, thats probably the only thing thas universal in the show and movies (I mean hell, even chi-chi powers up) so that was a bit disappointing in the game. Beyond that I can’t remember anything off the top of my head that set me off about the limitations.

Allow multiple players to join in on “ki battles” ala Earth Special Forces. Was one of the coolest features of the Half life mod was to have an entire server battling their final flashes, kamehameha’s and all the other special moves into a single beam from either side. Would get so powerful that once a side actually ran outta power and the victor was able to push till an explosion happened that virtually everyone in the server, even on the furthest places of the map, were killed.
