  1. Very much looking forward to both of them. Just preying (hehe) that the PC port isn’t the disappointment I expect for one of them.

  2. trailer is 30fps, for a game that looks like last gen

and the strafe trailer is 60fps

    so.. another bad sign

    1. It was 30fps because it was the xbone/ps4 version. Also show me one ps3 or 360 game that had enemies morphing with that much detail in them. You won’t because the hardware can’t do it.

  3. If Prey turns out to be a garbage port job, then I’ll support the Strafe devs and write Arkane off for good.

  4. I imagine none of you guys have played the original Prey? This game feels like it lacks the soul the original game had. I still don’t get why they even named it Prey to begin with when it has virtually nothing to do with the original :S It was never that popular enough to cash in on yet the series had so much potential to make it big, so did Human Head Studios who sadly got screwed over by Bethesda… On the other hand Strafe looks like it could be great fun and may provide a nostalgic trip.

    1. Because they had the rights and they were making system shock 3 without having the rights.

“so did Human Head Studios who sadly got screwed over by Bethesda.”

As if prey 2 had anything to do with the originaI game.

      1. “they were making system shock 3 without having the rights”… so by logic they went with the name Prey because clearly the series had no cult following, right?

And believe me I had mixed feelings for the sequel when it was initially announced. Looked incredibly fun and innovative but it drifted away from the gameplay and storytelling which made the first game stellar (the heavy and conflicted themes of the main character’s heritage and relationships and discovering the purpose of your enemies throughout, whilst seeing some messed up stuff along the way).

That being said, Prey 2 was still heavily tied to the first game in a number of ways. The game was to have you start off on the same Sphere which you ventured in the first game from beginning to end and the original character Tommy was going to make a comeback.

Most people like myself were looking forward to it but instead were left in the dark. If it happened to any of your favourite franchises you’d understand I’m sure.

  5. I remember seeing some gameplay of Strafe a while ago and being a little turned off by some mechanics like the blood that hurts you when you step on it (seems like an annoying dynamic limit on mobility without much point to it). TBH I’m more excited about Dusk, that’s looking a lot better I think, particularly the aiming and movement, but there’s still no release date in sight, dammit.
