Tomb Raider The Dagger Of Xian looks absolutely stunning – Uncompressed 4K Screenshots

Nicobass has released the demo for his remake of Tomb Raider 2 in Unreal Engine 4, Tomb Raider The Dagger Of Xian, and below you can find some screenshots from it. And even though this is a demo created by a single person, Tomb Raider The Dagger Of Xian is one of the most beautiful games on the PC.

Tomb Raider The Dagger Of Xian features a lot of high-resolution textures, Lara’s model looks incredible (and as retro as possible, which is a good thing), there are are some really cool special effects (like lens flares), there is bendable grass, Lara gets dirtier as she climbs and rolls on the ground, and the environments look absolutely stunning.

The attention to detail is so incredible that I don’t believe Nicobass will be able to complete this remake of Tomb Raider 2. Let’s not forget that this demo took him a couple of years to complete. And to be honest, we should be grateful for getting our hands on it. However, it will take him a long time (and that is if he is really, really, really committed to it) to finish it. After all, this feels like a professional work and not like a mere fan project.

Ironically, this free fan project looks way better than a lot of current-gen games. On Max settings, this is also a really demanding demo. Our GTX980Ti wasn’t able to push a constant 60fps experience on Ultra settings at 1080p (as there were some drops below 55fps). Thankfully, Nicobass has included a number of graphics settings to tweak in order to improve overall performance.

For viewability purposes, the screenshots below are resized to 1080p. Those interested can download our uncompressed 4K screenshots from here.

Enjoy!
