Ubisoft Confirms That Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag PC Will Be Based On The Next-Gen Version

Assassins Creed IV Black Flag

A lot of PC gamers got confused with Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Would the PC version be based on the next-gen or on the current-gen one? Would Ubisoft pull a Fifa 14 on us or would the French studio keep delivering polished PC titles (after all, Spliner Cell: Blacklist got an awesome PC version). Thankfully, Ubisoft’s Montreal Community Developer, Gabriel Graziani, confirmed yesterday that our platform will get the next-gen version, and explained the reasons behind the game’s delay.

As Graziani pointed out, PC gamers will have to wait a few weeks for a more advanced game (compared to the X360 and PS3 versions that are coming on November 1st).

When asked about the delay, Graziani said that since the PC is capable of delivering a comparable level of quality (with next-gen consoles), Ubisoft has to put the same amount of work into it. Moreover, the development team is adding some specific PC-only features – such as DX11 and TXAA – that take time until they are fully implemented.

So there you have it everyone. Ubisoft will be giving you the next-gen version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, though there is no ETA as of yet. A few weeks could obviously mean that we might see this title right before Christmas.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
