Silicon Lottery is currently selling a pre-binned Intel Core i7-10700K 5.1 GHz CPU for $559

Silicon Lottery is currently selling a highly pre-binned variant of the Intel Core i7-10700K CPU on its online store. This CPU isn’t meant for the average gamer though, since you need to pay a premium for it.

Hardcore gamers and serious overclockers might find this deal tempting, since they are getting a highly ‘binned’ variant straight out of the box. Not meant for regular or casual gamers.

According to Silicon Lottery 100% of the samples tested achieved a 4.9 GHz all-core overclock value. Whereas 68% managed to hit 5 GHz or higher. But only 20% of the i7-10700K CPUs tested could run stably at 5.1 GHz.

The Core i7-10700K which belongs to the 10th Generation Comet Lake-S family, rocks eight CPU cores, 16 threads and a 16MB of L3 cache. This SKU is marketed by Intel as having a 3.8 GHz base clock and 5.1 GHz boost clock value. The ‘all-core’ boost clock speed is rated for 4.7 GHz. The PL1 (Power Level 1) value of this CPU is 125Watts, and PL2 (Power Level 2) up to 229W.

This highest clocked pre-binned variant of the Core i7-10700K from Silicon Lottery runs at 5.1 GHz across all the eight cores with a 1.4V VCORE voltage value. And it carries a $559.99 price tag, which is up to $150 more expensive than the original street price. Other lower binned variants of the Core i7-10700K feature all-core boost clock speeds of up to 4.9 GHz and 5.0 GHz, and they each cost $429.99 and $469.99, respectively.

Silicon Lottery usually sticks with an AVX offset value of 1 which subtracts 100 MHz from the advertised clock speeds when the CPU is engaged in AVX workloads, for these binned parts. For the Asus ROG Maximus XII series of motherboards (Apex, Extreme, Formula, Hero), a Load-Line Calibration (LLC) value of 3 is specified by the company, whereas for Z490 motherboards from other brands, Silicon Lottery recommends a value of 4.

Silicon Lottery is offering a delidded Comet Lake-S chip here, which can help reduce the operating temperature  anywhere from 5 degrees to 15 degrees Celsius, when the processor is under heavy stress and workload. The CPU is having a MSRP of $374 – $387 for the stock Core i7-10700K variant, though it has been selling for as high as $409.99 on some retail outlets, and etailers.
