Rumor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 “Ampere” GPUs to be announced on September 9th

Nvidia is expected to release their next-gen GeForce RTX 30 series of Ampere Gaming graphics cards later this year. We have been hearing a lot of rumors lately regarding the launch dates. We have previously heard about the September 17th launch date. And now according to a new report posted by GamerNexus, the RTX 30 series will reportedly be revealed on September 9th.

There is a possibility that NVIDIA could announce these cards on September 9th, followed by an official launch on September 17th. This new information allegedly comes after discussions with Nvidia’s board partners/AIBs, so there is some legitimacy in this report and rumor. But similar to all hardware launches, Nvidia can change its reveal/launch dates if it wishes. We can expect some early company teasers to be shown as well, prior to the reveal date.

We can expect the GeForce RTX 30 series of gaming cards to go on ‘pre-order’ the same day of their announcement. The ‘Founders Edition’ series of graphics cards will be the first to get announced and then launched at a later date.

Custom third-party AIB board variants are expected around October/November timeframe. According to Wccftech’s internal sources, several AIBs have already started scheduling their press sample allocation with the cards shipping out in a few weeks.

We expect Nvidia to announce the following SKUs:

  • NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti
  • NVIDIA RTX 3080
  • NVIDIA RTX 3070
  • NVIDIA RTX 3060

The GeForce RTX 3070 will most probably launch a month later in October, while the GeForce RTX 3060 mainstream GPU is expected to launch around November.
