Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil 7 has shipped 4.8 million units worldwide

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 7 has shipped 4.8 million units worldwide. In other words, the Japanese company has shipped 700k more units in its 3rd Quarter FY3/2018. For what it’s worth, Capcom targets 10 million lifetime unit sales for RE7 and it appears that this latest Resident Evil game won’t hit that goal.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition was released on December 12th, 2017, alongside the Not a Hero free DLC. Capcom has not announced any new DLC plans for Resident Evil 7 so we don’t know whether the company will invest further time, effort and money on it.

In other news, Street Fighter V and Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite have shipped only 100k units worldwide in Capcom’s 3rd Quarter FY3/2018. While things may improve for Street Fighter V, as the Arcade Edition has just come out, we are pretty sure that the latest Marvel vs Capcom game has flopped.

Last but not least, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen has shipped two million units so far (200K units in the third quarter), Dead Rising 4 has finally shipped one million units, and Resident Evil 5,6, HD, 0 HD and Revelations 2 have shipped 100K additional units in the third quarter.
