RaceRoom Racing Experience Gets An Open Beta

RaceRoom Racing Experience
SimBin Studios AB and RaceRoom Entertainment AG have today announced an open beta for RaceRoom Racing Experience. RaceRoom Racing Experience, also referred to as R3E, is a Free2Race game featuring a community portal and an online store integrated into one – making it More Than a Game. In store are official racetracks and racecars, new but also classic game modes and features. RaceRoom Racing Experience is powered by SimBin’s latest physics evolution, ImmersiDrive and is set to deliver the best racing experience in SimBin history.
RaceRoom Racing Experience is said to connect fans of racing around a game, motorsports portal, and online store combined and seamlessly built into one platform making it More Than a Game. Drivers begin their racing career in the portal and hit the track with plenty of free-to-play content.
Five free cars will be available to registered users, as well as two free tracks available in six layouts. Additional cars, tracks, and game modes will be available for purchase in the store.
Individual car model prices range from 199 vRP to 329 vRP which is approximately 2 – 3,5 EUR. Tracks will generally be running from 349 vRP to 549 vRP or about 3,5 – 5,5 EUR. Tracks and cars will also be available from time to time in bundles. New game modes such as the Get Real package and Apex Hunt will be available for 99 vRP equaling 1 EUR.
Now this seems more like P2P than F2P, so it will be interesting to see whether racing fans will embrace this new system or not. And of course, you’ve got to wonder why do other racing developers – such as Slightly Mad Studios and Polyphony – create such detailed car models when Simbin can get away with this kind of policy.
RaceRoom Racing Experience will be packed with SimBin’s latest iteration of their award winning physics methodology and technology. Its engine will support Dynamic Lighting, Motion Blur, Physics based Particle system, Light Shafts, and improved scalability.
