Horizon Zero Dawn feature 4

Horizon Zero Dawn PC Update 1.02 released, fixes numerous crashes, full patch notes

Guerrilla Games has released the second PC patch for Horizon Zero Dawn. Following the release of Patch 1.01 last week, Update 1.02 aims to resolve some of the most frustrating crashes that PC gamers have been experiencing.

Going into more details, this patch fixes an fixes an issue where some players would crash during gameplay because of memory incorrectly being overwritten. This is the issue that a mod had previously resolved. It also fixes an issue where some players would crash during gameplay due to a texture unstreaming bug.

Alongside the aforementioned fixes, this update slightly improves performance when auto-saving. Additionally, it fixes an issue where some players experienced out of sync facial animations due to them being locked at 30FPS.

In case you’re wondering, no; this patch does not unlock the annoying 30fps animations. It also does not resolve the in-game Anisotropic Filtering issues. Furthermore, the snow deformation effects are still not present (though some report that these effects are present when using specific outfits). Patch 1.02 does not also resolve the screen-space reflections issues. For what it’s worth, Guerrilla Games claimed that it is still looking into fixing them.

As always, Steam will download this latest update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
