APEX Legends comes to Steam this Fall, will support cross-play between all platforms

Respawn and Electronic Arts have announced that APEX Legends is coming to Steam this Fall. Moreover, the game will support cross-play between all platforms. This basically means that PC gamers will be able to play with their Xbox One and Playstation 4 friends.

Apex Legends is a squad-based battle royale experience with a uniquely Respawn flavor. Players can select from one of eight Legends — each with their own unique abilities and playstyles — and the last team standing wins. Combatants can choose from unique characters like Bloodhound, the tracker who can see recent enemy activity on the map, or Lifeline, a battlefield medic who can shield teammates and bring them back from the brink of death.

The game came out in 2019 on Origin for the PC. Since then, Respawn has been supporting it with patches and new Seasons. Season 5 is currently under way and Respawn plans to add more content to the game.

Respawn has also announced the Armed and Dangerous Evolved event. In this mode, it’s snipers, shotguns & Evo Armor only, with no Respawn Beacons. However, players will be able to revive their fallen teammates with a new item: the Mobile Respawn Beacon.

“You’ll start each match with one in your inventory, so choose wisely when and where to deploy it. Complete challenges and visit the store to unlock up to 24 exclusive items. Journey to the new Crypto Town Takeover to take advantage of the all-seeing Holographic World Map. Complete the collection to call yourself a champ and unlock the new Mirage Heirloom.”

Enjoy!
