Kalypso Media announced today that its upcoming action RPG, Vikings – Wolves of Midgard, will be released globally on March 24th via Steam. In order to celebrate this announcement, Kalypso has also prepared a new trailer showing off the latest brutal gameplay footage ahead of release.
Vikings – Wolves of Midgard is an action RPG that will transport players to the Shores of Midgard, a world based upon the mythology and history of the Vikings.
Players will battle the fearsome Jotan, hordes of undead monstrosities and other myriad beasts of Ragnarok, either on their own or by teaming up with a friend via the online co-op multiplayer mode.
The game will feature a variety of weapons, including sword and shield, two-handed hammers, dual-wielded axes and swift bows.
Naturally, players will be able to acquire and enhance Spell Powers and other special unlockables.
Vikings – Wolves of Midgard will feature a story mode (and New Game+), as well as a special challenge mode called ‘Trials of the Gods’ that rewards the best warriors with special equipment and runes.
