Gears of War 4 offers crossplay MP support between Xbox One & PC in social quickplay

Back in December 2016, The Coalition launched a a crossplay test weekend that enabled Xbox One and PC players to play against each others. And yesterday, The Coalition announced that Gears of War 4 officially supports crossplay MP between Xbox One and the PC in Social Quickplay.

What’s really interesting here is that according to that crossplay test weekend, The Coalition found out that Windows 10 and Xbox players had closely-matched results when comparing Average KD, Score and Kills per match based on skill ratings.

Moreover, over 90% of all matches during that weekend included a mix of Windows 10 and Xbox One players, and the quality of matches improved for both Xbox and Windows 10 users.

As such, The Coalition decided to offer crossplay support in Social Quickplay, and this decision will be permanent, with the first few months being a ‘trial period’ in order to monitor player feedback alongside data to ensure the Test Weekend was representative.

The Core and Competitive modes will remain platform independent as The Coalition wants to ensure its Ranked experiences are as closely matched and competitive as possible.

Still, this is great news as you will be able to finally play with or against your Xbox One friends in Gears of War 4!
