Confirmed: No Man’s Sky Coming To PC After PS4 Release

In the latest issue of Edge, Hello Games’ Sean Murray confirmed that No Man’s Sky will be coming to the PC after the PS4 release. While the game will be timed exclusive on PS4 for a while, there is no doubt that it will hit our platforms at a later date (though we don’t know whether it will be three, six, nine or twelve months).

As Sean Murray told EDGE, Hello Games always had PC in mind. And while Murray describes his game console-y, he did shed some light on that term:

“I actually got in a bit of trouble for saying that we wanted the game to deel really console-y” says Murray. “We’ve always had PC in mind but in my head (console-y) means solid framerate and immediate controls. I think a PC game can be ‘console-y’ and it’s intended as a compliment, but I get in trouble for saying it.”

So there you have it everyone; official confirmation that No Man’s Sky is coming to the PC after the game’s release on PS4.

    Then there is no reason to buy this for PC just pirate it. By this deal Sony covered all development costs.

        Won’t be more than 3 months . The game had been made for PC , since the beginning just like Grim Fardango remake . As usual , Sony picks up the project , gives devs money and lies it to be PS4 centric/exclusive title .

          stated that focusing on the PS4 hardware gave the team the ability to
          maximize its procedural generation algorithms to make the environments

          really affects what we can do in terms of the richness of the worlds and
          things like that,” he said. “It isn’t just adding a veneer of
          resolution, or extra antialiasing options. It has a real effect on what
          we can actually do in the universe.”

        He’d still be mistaken then. Even games that target 30 fps on console have trouble with that and can dip as low as half of that during explosions.

      Depends on the game. There is definitely a segment like CoD that are focused on very fast, 60fps gameplay for multiplayer.

        Yeah, but those games are the exception, not the norm. It makes absolutely no sense to associate consoles with solid frame rates.

        Only on PC can you disregard all other graphical aspects in favor of a solid frame rate, if you so desire.

    Sony must have paid them a lot of money. At least these devs were smart enough to not go 100% exclusive. Its a shame we have to wait for the superior version but hey, its not like there wont be other space games to play.

    After that “console-y” statement though, I cant help but be a little bit worried for the direction and outcome of this potentially great game.

      Other space games, yes – but NMS has some really cool art direction. Directly inspired by those pulp science fiction book and magazine covers of the 50’s and 60’s. I geek out just thinking about it 😉

      It’s gonna be a long wait.

    Sony exposed yet again for false advertisement . I can bet that PC version is already up and running , and they started to work on PS4 version way later than PC version . They are still going to release PS4 version first because … Sony .

      I have never seen Sony say it’s a ps4 exclusive. Sure they said nothing about it coming out for PC but that’s not false advertisement. They aren’t required to say it’s coming out for pc.

    I’m not even mad. I’m more interested that we get it than that we get it at the same time. The PC version is typically better and cheaper, so worth waiting for. And unlike PS4 gamers, we have massive backlogs to work through, anyway, lol.
