Call of Duty: Ghosts – PC System Requirements Revealed – 6GB RAM Required As Minimum

Call of Duty Ghosts

It seems that the official GeForce website has just leaked the PC system requirements for the latest COD title, Call of Duty: Ghosts. According to the list, PC gamers will need a dual-core CPU in order to enjoy Infinity Ward’s title. What’s interesting here is that the game won’t run on 32-bit OSs, something we’ve been witnessing in a lot of ‘next-gen’ titles lately. Not only that, but 6GB of RAM are a minimum requirement.

Here is the complete PC specs for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Kudos to our reader ‘Peleau dareka’ for informing us!

  • what a load of bullsh*t.

  • xello

it’s about time… keep up or shut up people

    • Matt

      6GBs to run a bloated Quake engine…

It’s not that people aren’t equipped but that it’s a ridiculous requirement for an engine that doesn’t do anything much different than it’s 360 counterpart.

      • Ezhik

Source is a hell of a bloated Quake engine too. What matters most is how it’s used.

        • Dakan45

          well said.

      • Dakan45

bullcrap there is nothing “quake” left in it, it uses techonology that could not even imagined back then, as the other guy said by that logic source is a bloated quake engine. No diffirent from 360? What part of having better graphics than the ps4/xbo version did you miss? I know you think it looks identical to the previous, but cod advances each year so the improvements are less noticeable to the eye. The original tomb raider games were released annually with small advances, so people also claimed they looked the same.

    • Warrior88

      What a duma$$!
Most of us own PC’s that are really powerful, on the higher-end side and I can run Crysis 3 maxed out ~50+fps! The point here is the visuals of this game tells a very different story! No way in hell it would require these specs minimally..unless its a horribly optimized game!!

      • mareknr

We don’t know nothing about the visuals. New COD should be built on new engine. But yes. According to requirements I expected big improvements against last COD game. So I hope it won’t be disapointment.

  • Matt

Lol, what a load of crap. There is no way these are the required specs.

  • Jeffrey

LMFAOOOOOOOO WHAT A LOAD OF SHIT

  • s_fnx

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • MAXLD

50GB of HD space? Yeah right… that’s 20GB more than BF4 official requirements. COD Blops2 requires 16. Whoever came up with that troll info is probably hitting the vodka hard.
Or maybe the dogs will have fleas and ticks rendered in 4K…

    • Matt

It’s the overhead they needed to bring the Fish Ai to PC…

    • Nekrim

Maybe they forgot how to compress texture files. /lol/

  • xello

lol u guys are stuck in like 2005

    • Matt

1-2Gbs(if that) was the standard for 2005… Ram was super expensive back then. The most expensive ram now would’ve been a discount compared to prices back then. I think It was $400 for 2gb of PC4000…

    • s_fnx

The thing is a shitty game with shitty graphics like COD asking for requirements like these, it makes no sense.

      • Dakan45

Maybe they listend and giving you super duper graphics that beat next gen. Whats wrong? sad you wont be downloading and finishing it in an afternoon? Its only 50 gb.

This is why i was always okay with cod graphics, they were FINE they were not paticulary impressive but up until the first black ops game they looked FINE, then mw3 and black ops 2 became horribly dated, but up until black ops they beat most multiplats. No need for every game to be crysis, bf, metro.

The install size was manageble and everyone could get high fps.

From a developer’s standpoint it was better to use some blurry textures and make a 15gb game than a 30gb like rage/max payne, let alone a 50 gb that it is now.

        • It’s nice to have the option but if people want 2048×2048 textures + on everything then it takes a lot of space end of story, even DXT compressed.

          • Dakan45

kinda makes you wonder what willl happen next gen, games will become even more expensive and bigger in install size but even less and less gameplay, not only it wont worth buying but even pirating, seriously just get an old game instead. Thats what is gonna cause the crash.

    • coolmasterishere

LOL! Even Assassin’s Creed 4 which is an OPEN WORLD game requires only 4 gigs of RAM and a GTX470!

LOOOOOL this is the worst “pretend this game is next gen” attempt I’VE EVER SEEN!

My Gosh, I can’t stop laughing, my stomach hurts! =’D

      • Dakan45

and watchdogs needs 6gb. You never know.

  • Ayman Zahran

    I call Shenanigans

  • archnophobia

Call of S#!7 looks like nothing, compare to Crysis. they wanna force me to buy a new computer.

    • mareknr

Well. It should be built using new engine for next-gen. But I agree. These requirements are incomplete and we don´t know what recommendation requirements are. So we have nothing to compare excluding graphics card. And we don´t know if these requirements are worth according to visual quality.

      • Dudebro Zero

But it clearly isn’t a new engine. It looks the same with some slight improvements like parallax mapping. Things that were in Crysis in 2007.

        • Dakan45

You might wanna check cod4 though if you think there are no improvments

    • Dakan45

Maybe it does, high requirements, 50gb, you wanted cod to be graphically impressive, there you go, high requirements and 50 gb and surpass the next gen graphics on consoles.

      Happy?

Id rather go back to having average graphics and a 15gb instal which is managable.

      • archnophobia

I’m not ready for this insanity… 50gb just for one game is to much…

        • Dakan45

Gta v will be around that i guess.

You can see that from any standpoint you wish, such as paying 60 bucks instead of pirating, or not bothering with call of #@#$ alltogether, although black ops 2 was pretty good…but in the end 50gb is gonna hurt your hard drive. Imagine installing 3 games at a 120gb, ouch!!!

          • archnophobia

I don’t have a problem with space cause i have 2tb, but what i don’t like is how things moving fast…

          • Dakan45

Replying here becasue the other game is not yet approved and cant reply

            https://i.chzbgr.com/maxW500/7790547712/h9A1455A4/

            Now its pretty much this

            We
got money, you make gamey stuff, go make some game and we will
advertize it and make you rich, BUT you have to appeal to as many people
as possible, so make it generic.

This is not why i played games,
i played games for good ideas and fun gameplay, to experiment to create
gameplay and franchises, not to pay 40-60 bucks and get yet ANOTHER
15-20gb game that plays like all the others has no replay value and its
            done after a few hours.

But thats what is all about nowdays,
generic samey games to get high sales (and still not get them) in order
to pay for all the money they put in the graphics. ofcourse the dlcs and
season passes and preorder bonuses per retailer and ofcourse scanning
doritos bags because, hey games gotta make money right?

            Seems to
me we are fools that support the devs like its charity or something.
Like their games are generic but we have to buy them or the franchises
will stop being made, i see myself in the future stopping paying
attention to the AAA industry and play only indie games. Atleat my money
is well spent there, spent on talented devs.

          • archnophobia

Like How you think bro 🙂

  • rawr

Is this the first of april?

  • randir14

Inflated requirements to make people believe it’s truly next-gen.

  • Jason Walrus

They did say the PC version would have Physx, dx11 tessellation and high resolution textures BUT to have a 550ti as the minimum specs alone is just ridiculous. And 6GB of RAM? How is this going to look better than Watch Dogs or Battlefield 4 both of which require less powerful specs to run.
Maybe Infinity Ward couldn’t optimise the game.

    • Fair enough if they’re really pushing the textures on this above next-gen consoles for the PC version and yes a 64bit is required for such high memory requirement, but a GTX 780 recommended is just laughable.

      • mareknr

GTX780 is here because of NVIDIA technologies which are part of this games (including GPU PhysX).

        • It’s the top of the line card, funny they should mention it and probably got leaked like that because they used a GTX 780 to show their demo at E3.

    • Picked A Name

A dedicated satellite is required for multiplayer

      • Dakan45

        lol

    • Dudebro Zero

      “Infinity Ward” 😀

    • Dakan45

They also did say that the game will look better on pc than next gen, so there you got high requirements and 50gb.

There you go the game is “next gen”

      Hapy?

  • Arkham

    I think i know the reason of these requirements… it’s the dog…!

    • Amir

      no it’s the fish

    • Dakan45

The dog is called Riley, riley was the name of ghost from mw2.

dog= ghost, dont joke about the dog.

  • seena

after seeing this i have got one thing to say

    “what?”

  • Oliver

    this is joke

  • Dark Moyan

No problem, got 8 GB and 64 Bit but I think official announcement will be lower.

  • Picked A Name

first thing came to my mind

  • Picked A Name

funny thing is the cpu requirement
I dont believe anybody except activision on this planet has a 6gb ram and 550ti in their pc but a core 2 duo cpu

  • ??????? ???

    Lol!

  • HelterSkelter

This is leaked. It could be that 6 gig ram is the recommended. If not, then this is fucked up.

    • Dudebro Zero

I’m going to guess these are all “recommended” specs. Requiring this kind of PC would completely bypass their entire audience. Casuals don’t have new PCs. I’m a hardcore gamer, or atleast that’s the label I would get from people who think in such terms, and I’m still using a 5850. All other games run well on it.

  • gatecrasher1970

seriously GeForce has been giving everyone bad bf3 and bf4 drivers for ages and you expect us to believe the shit they shovelling 6gb ram minimum hahahah fucking ha

  • Dakan45

Nope, GSO looks average and source continues to have stuttering issues since 2004. Its a graphically uimpressive engine and dated.

  • Guest

COD Trying to become Star Citizen now .? This is bullshit .

  • Ezhik

You have to keep in mind that Valve has this huge revenue source – Steam. They could quit making games forever and still make a profit. Activision can’t really do that.
